Applying for Working Holiday 417 Australia (second year)
Granted! After a year and two months my second year Working Holiday visa (417) was finally granted. I applied for the visa in the beginning of December 2020 and it was granted at the end of January 2022. The application process was fairly easy but the wait wasn't. I'll first shortly explain the application process and at the end write a little of my future plans.
Steps in applying the Working Holiday Visa (417) (Second year)
Create an account in https://online.immi.gov.au/
Choose the visa you will be applying for. Finland falls under the 417. You can check your eligibility from the Home Affairs web page. Depending on the visa you should also check what age limits the visa has for your country - and other entry requirements such as how much money you should have or if there are any health requirements. For the 417 visa you can find the details here.
Gather all the information you'll need for the application. You'll need your passport / ID-details, home address as well as details from the employer you worked for on the first year. You need to input the name, registered business number and some other contact details of the employer. They also ask the total hours and days worked, so count those ahead to make the filling process easier.
See below the list of attachments needed and prepare the documents ahead.
Fill the application - this is easy once you have all the needed documents and details ready. Prepare to answer a lot of yes/no questions.
Pay & submit the application

Evidence of specified work (for second 417 visa)
For me, this meant payslips from the zucchini farm I worked during my first year and since the farm owner also filled us an employment verification form, I sent that as well.
Evidence of funds for stay in Australia and departure
I used a pdf format bank statement for this.

My plans
As my visa got accepted at the end of January 2022, I told about it fairly quickly at work. I am currently working as a Marketing Coordinator for a Film Distribution company and I have told them openly about my visa application from the beginning. I also told them that even though I was granted the visa now, I still don't quite know when I would be leaving to Australia, so we returned to the subject a little later in April.
Nothing is yet decided, but my plan right now is to start my travels at the end of summer. I have planned a trip with two of my friends to South-Korea and we would spend about three weeks backpacking the country. After that I would continue to Vietnam & Laos on my own and in the end spend a few days in Bali before flying to Australia.
I think I will aim to be in Sydney mid October which would be the start of the summer season. Hopefully, I would find some kind of work for the season either from the tourism industry - I could work as a Travel Advisor in a local travel agent, find work from a hotel or hostel reception - or try to find work in my current field, marketing. In the end, I am open to nearly any kind of work where I can learn something new.
Plans might change, and they usually do, but this is what I am going forward with for now. Before the end of summer I still have many exciting things to look forward to. One of them is my short weekend trip to Frankfurt, Germany, with my flat mate to a concert. I'll surely write something about that trip as well.
