Deserted Festival Club, Ibiza

Sunday Funday started slowly with us waking up very late. After an unhurried morning we decided to take a drive to an abandoned Festival Club from the 70's. I had not read much about the place beforehand but after I got to see the it, I wanted to know more.

Abandoned Festival Club Ibiza

What I learned from Discover Ibiza, is that the Festival Club is the first big club ever in Ibiza. It was built in 1972 and it entertained people in many different ways: The Festival Club had a restaurant, an amphitheatre and they arranged concerts and mock bull fights on the site. Tourists would arrive to the venue with a bus and enjoy their time to the fullest.

The Festival Club managed to stay open only two seasons before they had to close because of huge debts. They were planning to reopen but it never happened, and now the place has been taken over by nature - and by graffiti artists. It was a cool experience to explore the very dystopian-like venue and try to see all the amazing art work behind every corner. Below you'll see a lot of pictures taken by me or my travel mates, and you can see more videos of our journey on my Tiktok.

The place was enormous and I could've easily spent more time exploring the area. Maybe I'll make this a series in my blog: Visiting sites with cool graffiti. I already did so about 6 months ago when I visited the Snösätra graffiti walls in Stockholm. Check it out if you are a fan of art!
